About the Corse region

The Island of Beauty set in the heart of the Mediterranean, Corsica concentrates landscapes of rare intensity on a compact territory, making it a dream destination. Its crystal-clear waters and heavenly beaches, such as Palombaggia, Santa Giulia or Rondinara, are among the most beautiful in Europe. The coast alternates turquoise coves, spectacular gulfs and the calanques of Piana, listed by UNESCO, with their flamboyant red rocks.

But Corsica is also a mountain in the sea. The wild interior unfolds forests, high-altitude lakes, the Bavella needles and snow-capped peaks, crossed by the legendary GR20, one of the most demanding and spectacular long-distance trails in Europe. The Agriates desert, the rivers and the natural pools offer unforgettable swims and hikes.

Heritage is not lacking: Bonifacio, perched on its white limestone cliffs, Ajaccio, Napoleon's birthplace, Bastia and its old port, as well as the Genoese citadels and the mountain villages clinging to the slopes tell of a proud and unspoilt land.

Corsican gastronomy, generous and scented by the maquis, charms with its cured meats, its cheeses, its chestnut and its wines. Between crystal-clear sea, wild peaks, authentic villages and living traditions, Corsica promises active and refreshing holidays, between relaxing on the beaches and mountain adventures, to be savoured from spring to autumn.

To explore Corsica, alternate relaxing on the beaches, mountain hikes and the discovery of villages and citadels. The best period runs from May to October, outside the summer peak for more tranquillity. Swimming at Palombaggia, hiking on the GR20 or to the natural pools, visiting Bonifacio and Ajaccio, a boat trip to the calanques of Piana and tasting cured meats punctuate the stay. What to do in Corsica in a week or more? Between crystal-clear sea, wild peaks, authentic villages and traditions, the Island of Beauty satisfies all travellers. Ideal for a road trip, beach holidays or a mountain adventure, it promises a complete change of scenery.
